Longhurst Farms Sprouted Raw Almonds with Himalayan Pink Salt, 4.8 oz
Longhurst Farms Sprouted Raw almonds with a hint Kosher Salt. This is truly a health building snack!
Our friends at Sprouted Almonds™ have changed their name and have been producing sprouted almond based items for several years now, and we have to say that these almonds are fantastic!
Taken from the Longhurst Fams website: "Sprouting is one of the most fascinating natural phenomena. From this tiny appendage, a tree is born. It’s not surprising that there is exceptional nutritional value locked inside the kernel. Sprouting enlivens the enzymes that are dormant within. These enzymes activate when they come in contact with water, and the nuts are “awakened”. The potential growth for each nut is to become a tree, and when we eat Longhurst Famrs Sprouted Almonds® our bodies receive this concentrated vital energy and nutrition. Even more important, sprouting neutralizes enzyme inhibitors present in the nut, allowing quicker and more complete digestion and assimilation of nutrients."
Just like the Longhurst Famrs Sprouted Almonds™ raw almond butter that we also offer, a one ounce serving offers exceptional nutritional value:
- 6 grams of protein
- 11 grams of fat, mostly mono unsaturated
- 3 grams of fiber
- 162 mg potassium
- 68 mg magnesium
- 54 mg calcium
- 1.4 mg of Resveratrol (amount equivalent to 3 glasses of red wine)
- and zinc, manganese, iron, etc.
And all of this good nutrition will be more readily available to our bodies due to the sprouting process and reduced anti-nutrients like phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors.
Ingredients: Sprouted Almonds™, Kosher Salt
Packed in recyclable #1 PETE plastic resealable container.
Please note that these are US grown almonds. By law, domestic almonds must be "pasteurized" in order to be sold in retail channels. To retain the raw state of the almonds and to comply with the law, the best option was and still is gas pasteurization. The good news is that this process leaves no detectable residue after the almonds undergo the soaking and sprouting process. So please be assured that this nut butter is truly a health building food despite the controversial pasteurization requirements for domestically grown almonds.
