Grown solely in Ecuador, "Arriba" is the only cocoa varietal with a perfumed floral scent before roasting the cocoa bean.  Its flavor is smooth, nutty, with a long dominant chocolate note and no bitterness or acidity.  Vintage Plantations bars contain over 80% Arriba derived cocoa, with the balance from native cacao varieties.

Some of the health benefits of dark chocolate:

• Inhibits platelet aggregation (similar in nature to aspirin...and tastes a whole lot better!)
• Lowers blood pressure in elderly hypertensive patients not on medication. 
• Improves endothelial plasticity, suggesting protective effects against heart disease.  Endothelial rigidity is associated with atherosclerosis.
• The small amount of caffeine, theobromine, PEA (phenylethylamine) and possibly other constituents are believed to contribute to chocolate's allure.  PEA is a potential ingredient that leads to greater production "feel good" brain chemicals called opiods.
