We think very highly of these latest innovations in health-building products from Green Pasture Products.  Dave Wetzel is to be congratulated for bringing perhaps two of the most naturally nutrient dense oil products (Fermented Cod and Fermented Skate) to market.  The concept is simple - take an already nutrient dense fish liver and ferment it for several months under careful supervision.  And voila, you have products far superior to any "oil" on the market.  These are truly raw, unheated oils that deliver superior, concentrated nutrition.   And don't forget, fermentation not only concentrates nutrition, but it also makes that nutrition more bioavailable.  

The product label emphasizes the "Sacred Food" aspect of the oil.  Lab testing consistently reveals the complexity of this "food", providing more than just the basic nutrients we've come to expect in fish liver oils.  Yes, of course there is a healthy dose of both Vitamin A and D.  With greater emphasis these days on the critical importance of adequate Vitamin D, we're pleased that fermented skate livers provide very healthy amounts of vitamin D.  Not to mention DHA and EPA, and a full complement of omega-3, 6, 7 and 9 fatty acids.  Additionally, the fermented skate includes Price Factor X, squalene (anti-oxidant support), alkoxyglycerols (immune support), chondroitin (joint support) and small amounts of quinones, of which Co Q-10 is the most famous. 

One serving* provides approximately: Vitamin A  3500 IU's; Vitamin D  600 IU's; EPA  120+ mg; DHA  130+ mg.  Total Omega-3, Omega-6, Omega-7, Omega-9, Vitamin E, and Vitamin K are present, but not currently measured.  Also present are Alkoxyglycerols, Squalene, Chontroitin, and Price Factor X.

What is Skate you ask?  It's part of the Ray family, with a flat body and wings.  Unlike other Ray's, Skate does not possess a tail barb or stinger.  You will find Skate commonly in fish markets in Europe, but not so in North America.
